Introduction
The Department of Botany and Zoology aspires to develop and grow research-based education with a clear view of the country’s future needs in society and agro-economy. The Department has a substantial faculty of Ecology, Phycology, Plant Stress Physiology, Fisheries, Wild Life, Systematic, Herpetology, Parasitology and Biodiversity. The biological techniques with combination oftraditional breeding methods are helpful to ensure the demands offarmers in the suburbs ofthe Bacha Khan University, Charsadda particularly and the country in general. We are fully aware of the industry-based goal of fostering socioeconomic growth by supplying the society with professionally well-equipped Botany and Zoology graduates.
The Department of Botany & Zoology aims to nurture and flourish the research-based teaching with clear vision of future need of the society and Agro-economy of the country. The Department has a strong faculty of Ecology, Phycology, Plant Stress Physiology, Systematic, and Biodiversity as well as promote the discovery and broad knowledge about the biology of animals, Physiology, Evolution, Fisheries, Wild Life, Herpetology, Molecular Parasitology, and their interactions with environments. The biological techniques with combination of traditional breeding methods are helpful to ensure the demands of farmers in the suburbs of the Bacha Khan University, Charsadda particularly and the country in general. We are well aware of the industry-based objective to foster the socio-economic growth by providing the professionally well-equipped Botany & Zoology graduates to the society. To serve the communities by advancing understanding of living organisms and their interactions with the environment through high-quality biology education and research with an emphasis on experiential learning and problem solving, and to build public understanding of the living world through educational outreach activities for learners of all ages.
The aim of the Department of Botany & Zoology is to promote an integrated understanding of utilization of plants and animals in various disciplines to explore the underlying mechanisms for promoting friendly environment. Particular emphasis focusing on the application of biological knowledge to stimulating current advances in Plant Pathology, Mycology, Ecology, Phycology, Plant Physiology, Plant Microbes Interaction, Molecular Parasitology, Fisheries, Wild Life, Systematic, Herpetology, and Pharmacology. Research and education in the Department are dedicated to developing high quality scientific results which could be exploited for the benefit of humanity. The Department strives at the best to boost consciousness in the scientific community as well as in society of the need for interaction and cooperation between socioeconomic and natural sciences both nationally and internationally.

Eligibility for BS Botany/Zoology
For BS program the student should complete 12 year of education and have Biology as elective subject at F. Sc level or equivalent. The student also have 45% marks F. Sc level or equivalent are eligible for admission in BS Botany and BS Zoology degree program.
Award of BS (Botany/Zoology) Degree
For the award of BS Botany/ Zoology Degree must have:
- The student should be studied at least 136 credit hours, including all those courses which have been specified as miner/ major, compulsory courses.
- Obtaining the CGPA at least 2.5 out of 4.0 CGPA.
- Minimum duration of degree program is 4 years and maximum 5 years.

Eligibility for M. Phil and Ph. D in Botany
- For M. Phil program the student should complete 16 year of education and have degree in the subject of Botany or equivalent with at least 2.5 CGPA or 45%. The student has not more than two second divisions in the academic career.
- For Ph. D the scholar should have 18 year of education and not more than two second division in the academic career, and no third division in academic career, also have 3.0/4.0 CGPA in semester system or first class degree in M. Phil level or equivalent.
Award of M. Phil and Ph. D Degree
Degree in M. Phil Botany and Ph. D Botany are awarded in accordance with the HEC guidelines.
