
Academic Writing in the Age of Generative AI: Tools and Ethics of Plagiarism Prevention
The Directorate of Quality Enhancement has arranged a training session on “Academic Writing in the Age of Generative AI: Tools and Ethics of Plagiarism Prevention” addresses how advances in AI technologies are transforming academic writing. It highlights the opportunities generative AI tools provide for assisting research, drafting, and editing while also emphasizing the challenges they create in maintaining originality and academic integrity. The session covers ethical considerations around using AI, including transparency and proper attribution. It introduces various AI-powered tools designed to detect plagiarism and ensure authenticity in academic work. Ultimately, the training aims to equip participants with knowledge and strategies to effectively integrate AI tools responsibly and uphold ethical standards in scholarly writing. The worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khan Alam graced the session and said that such trainings can help in enhancing knowledge of the workforce and increase their understanding regarding different probles. The Vice Chancellor presented a shield to the resource person Dr. Safdar Khan Marwat, Director QEC, UET, Peshawar and distributed certificates of appreciation among the participants.
