Program Overview

The M.Sc. (Hons) Plant Breeding and Genetics program is designed to provide advanced knowledge and research skills in plant genetics, crop improvement, biotechnology, molecular breeding, seed technology, and genetic resource conservation. The program combines theoretical learning with laboratory research and field experimentation to develop improved crop varieties with higher yield, disease resistance, climate resilience, and enhanced nutritional quality. Graduates are equipped to contribute to sustainable agriculture, food security, and agricultural innovation.

Eligibility Criteria

BS (Hons) Agriculture in Plant Breeding and Genetics or an equivalent four-year degree from an HEC-recognized university. Candidates from relevant agricultural disciplines may apply as per university admission policy. Applicants must meet the minimum CGPA/percentage and other admission requirements prescribed by the university. Admission may be based on merit, entry test, and/or interview.
